I wholeheartedly agree with Landmark's view regarding this inane Riverside video gambling referendum without teeth ("Zombie among us," The Landmark View, Dec. 13).
Why a majority of the board wants to have this toothless referendum is baffling. The board has a pretty good idea (actually a definitive idea) most Riversiders don't want video gambling in the village.
And the notion that this referendum will allow intimidated Riversiders an opportunity to voice their opinion regarding this toothless referendum is ludicrous. The board is insulting Riversiders, insinuating that a significant number of them are afraid to voice their opinion.
Riversiders are not afraid to make their opinion known on easy or tough issues. It seems it's the board who is afraid to make a decision.
