Dr. Susan (SueEllen) Colby, age 53 of Brookfield, died in a tragic fire on June 10, 2018.
Born July 10, 1964 in Westbrook, Maine, Dr. Colby graduated from Westbrook High School. She attended Boston University Medical School and graduated summa cum laude, first in her class, at the age of 23.
Dr. Colby practiced medicine and resided in the Chicago area for many years. She was an avid reader and gardener. She was an incredible chef and enjoyed cooking for friends and family. She was a great lover of animals, they were her constant companions.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney J. Colby and Gladys D. Colby; her brother, Kenneth N. Lamb; and her sister Gale M. Lewis. She is survived by her brothers, Paul Lamb and William C. Colby, and sisters, Robin Colby Bryson and Sherry Colby Swinnerton.
Private services will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to any animal rescue organization.
