Anton J. “Tony” Ruska III, 87, of LaGrange and a former longtime resident of Riverside, died June 8, 2013.
Mr. Ruska was a U.S. Navy veteran and for 22 years was a licensed funeral director at Cermak’s Home for Funerals in Cicero. He was a former member of the Benevolent Association of Butchers, past president of the Berwyn/Cicero Rotary club, past president of the United Way Red Feather, former director on the board of Morton college, former director on the board of Seguin Services, a member of the Dobrovsky Bohemian Club, a former usher at St. Mary Church and a Mason for 23 years.
He was the father of Cynthia Nikischer, Barbara (Sam) Daddano, Holly (Chris) Agne, William (Michelle) Ruska and Anton “A.J.” Ruska IV; the former spouse of Barbara Ruska (nee Sedlacek); and the grandfather of nine.
A funeral Mass was held June 15 at St. Mary Church in Riverside.
Cermak’s Home for Funerals, Cicero, handled arrangements.
