Lyons Township baseball to face Oak Park in Class 4A State championship

The Lyons Township baseball team will defend its Class 4A State title against a familiar rival at Silver Cross Field in Joliet on Saturday.

The Lions, who downed Minooka 6-2 in the semifinals on Friday night will face West Suburban (Silver) Conference foe Oak Park on Saturday at 5 p.m. Lyons earned two victories over the Huskies during the regular season.

On Friday, the Lions (26-12-1) were led by pitcher Keith Lehman, who yielded just two earned runs on five hits, while striking out five and walking three in a complete game effort. Lyons scattered nine hits in the game, including two by Lehman.
