Trump simply telling it like it is

I have come to the conclusion that President Trump is subjected to constant attacks because he chooses to be honest and tell it like he thinks it is, something the citizens of the United States apparently cannot handle from a politician.

They are too accustomed to having their ears tickled by elected officials who for decades have chosen to tell the people what they want to hear and not what they need to hear.

Politicians cannot be honest if they wish to appease a broad constituency. They choose to hide behind a cloak of political correctness out of fear of offending somebody or special interest groups. They speak in broad generalities about real issues and wax poetically with meaningless drivel about current events.

Like him or hate him, President Trump deserves our respect for having the intestinal fortitude to break the mold of the politician who is in office to appease the masses with lullaby rhetoric.

Political correctness corrupts honesty, freedom of speech, and the very fiber of what made America great.

When we, as a nation, come to the point where we can't handle the truth, can't tolerate differences of opinion, or can't think beyond the vast wasteland of social media, our land will no longer be the USA. It will be rebranded the USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics). The name is available, right?

The concern I have regarding the USA turning into some communistic police state is Trump has praised Sheriff Joe as a Patriot when in fact he is quite the opposite. The Sheriff picked up anyone of Brown skin color even conducting sweeps at Soccer games and waiting at schools. Yes, he may have found Illegal undocumented people but in those sweeps he picked up American citizens and Native Americans; held them for days without charges. mmm...sounds like a police state to me. There is a cost to our freedom and civil liberties. Yes, we need to prosecute anyone who breaks the law however profiling, sweeps and holding citizens without charges will erode our freedom and a step toward a police state. I'm Orthodox Christian, when will they come after me?

So we accept politician's lies, but not his? How about these stretches of the truth? If you want to keep your doctor, you can. The billion+ dollars in cash wasn't payment for the hostages. Benghazi happened because of a video. We did everything we could to get them out. I never used a private server for classified information. I have allergies, I have pneumonia. I never had sexual relations with that woman. Depends on what the meaning of "is" is. Who's really been lying? The media. There's no more 'news' in this country ?" we don't get facts, we get curated stories that further the agenda of the news outlet. "All the news that's fit to print" is now all the news "we" think is fit to print. You say his supporters ignore the facts, but consider facts what you were told, "he will never be president, he can't win, our polls show him suffering a humiliating defeat, Sanders could be the nominee, it's her turn (says who?)". They failed to warn you about tens of thousands of people who traveled across state lines, stood for hours to wait to hear this man speak. They led you down the garden path that it was a slam dunk for her. No wonder people were so mad. Your ignorance of the facts was their fault ?" not his, but you're mad at him for winning. Where were the stories in about her not being seen in public for over 250 days while CAMPAIGNING for the presidency? Wouldn't that have given you pause, maybe even set you up for her possible defeat so you wouldn't have felt so blindsided? And now you "resist." Resist what? Free & fair elections, democracy, majority rule?.After berating him for not respecting the outcome you take to the streets like 4 year olds having a tantrum? Forget words, worry about deeds. Fire and fury? OMG! Not presidential, yet Kim Jung Un backed down for now. Deeds are more important than words. Trump's not the enemy, and if he is, he's piloting this plane we're all on board and we better hope he lands us safely

Is "telling it like it is" mean lying and saying the lies are alternative facts?

The conclusion you have deducted is wrong. Donald Trump is subjected to constant attacks, in a large part, because he is a habitual liar. Yes, all politicians lie to some extent and it is unfortunate that our society has accepted this fact, especially when we don't like it when our kids lie. Donald Trump takes lying to an entirely new level. Trump lied about the number of people who attended his inauguration, despite the facts proving his claim wrong Trump lied about him losing the popular vote, despite the lack of facts supporting his claim He lied about when ISIS was formed, despite the facts proving his claim wrong Trump lied about the United States being one of the highest-taxes nations in the world, which it is not Trump lied about his phones being taped, despite no evidence supporting his claim The list can go on and on and on and on?. you hopefully get the point. Donald Trump is appeasing his base, which I assume you are part of based on your opinion, by providing overly simplistic answers to complex problems based on inaccurate claims and lies. You are right, this nation, especially Donald Trump and his supporters, cannot handle the truth. When facts contradict the preconceived ideas that are held by Donald Trump and his supporters, they look the other way in ignorance and attack the facts. We do not tolerate this type of behavior in children and we must not tolerate this type of behavior in adults.
