The ladies of the North Riverside Garden Club have recently created a new garden bed to thank the first responders of the village of North Riverside.

The recently established Thank You Garden, located at the front entrance of the North Riverside Police Department, features a dwarf blue spruce, blue flowering perennials and a stone mounted dedication plaque.

The idea behind the project was to create an area that could be easily viewed by the first responders and express gratitude for all the heroic things they do. These men and women risk their lives to protect us each and every day and do it without concern to their own personal safety.

None would be so lucky without the service and protection of the police department, fire department and public works. It was with great pride that a new garden was designed to show their sincere appreciation for all the brave and courageous acts they perform while on duty.

North Riverside truly is a small community with a big heart and their first responders are proof of that sentiment.
