Grace F. Fister, 92, Retired line worker

Grace F. Fister (nee Vales), 92, a longtime resident of North Riverside, died Sept. 5, 2008.

Ms. Fister was a retired production line worker at Automatic Electric in Northlake and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 60 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Fister, and her parents, Frank and Mary (nee Kipta) Vales. She is survived by her cousins, Ed Kipta, George Kipta and Elaine (Charles) Levy, and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held Sept. 10 at Kuratko-Nosek Funeral Home, North Riverside, followed by entombment at Woodlawn Mausoleum.

William D. Linder, 95, Engineer

Riverside resident William Dyer Linder, 95, died Sept. 8, 2008.

Born Aug. 22, 1913, Mr. Linder graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in mechanical engineering and served during World War in the South Pacific aboard the USS Duluth, receiving the Philippine Liberation Ribbon.

After the war he was plant engineer at R. Lavin & Son, ending his career as a consultant in nonferrous industries.

Mr. Linder was a registered professional engineer in the state of Illinois, a member of the American Society of Plant Engineers, a life member of the American Contract Bridge League and the VFW. Locally, he was a founding member of the Riverside Swim Club.

Memorial services were held Sept. 12 at Ivins Funeral Home in Riverside, followed by interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.

Lois R. Wilcek, 73, Nurse

Former Riverside resident Lois R. Wilcek (nee Gyure), 73, died Aug. 2, 2008 in her Tucson, Ariz., home.

She was born on April 26, 1935 in Chicago and raised in Grand Rapids, Mich. She worked as a nurse for most of her adult life.

Ms. Wilcek is survived by her husband of 33 years, Frank D. Wilcek; her sons, Scott Falater, Dan (Nancy) Falater, Chris (Peggy) Falater and Tom Falater; her daughter, Laura Healy; her nine grandchildren, Megan Falater, Michael Falater, Jeff Falater, Amy Falater, Poppy Falater, Brendan Healy, Timothy Healy, Sean Healy and Genevieve Healy; one great grandchild; her sisters, Sue (Paul) Fruin and Caryl (Bud) Sheggrud; and her brother, the Rev. William Gyure.

A private memorial service was held in Tucson. Interment will be in Justice, officiated by Rev. William Gyure.

Adeline E. Yukl, 87, Retired from Victor Gasket

North Riverside resident Adeline Elizabeth Yukl (nee Nerud), 87, died Sept. 10, 2008.

A former resident of Berwyn, Ms. Yukl worked as an assembler at the Victor Gasket Company prior to her retirement.

She as preceded in death by her husband, Frank Yukl Jr.; her son, Ronald (Angela) Yukl; her grandchildren, Nicholas (Nancy) Yukl and Laura (David) Karr; and her step-great grandchildren, Jillian and Tracey Webb.

Funeral services were held Sept. 13 at Kuratko-Nosek Funeral Home, North Riverside, followed by entombment at Bohemian National Mausoleum in Chicago.
