With the election season heating up in both Riverside and Brookfield, the Riverside-Brookfield Landmark will sponsor a pair of candidate forums next month where candidates for office can address the important issues facing each village.
To ensure that the forums are non-partisan affairs, the Landmark has enlisted the expertise of the LaGrange Area League of Women Voters, whose members will serve as moderators.
A forum featuring Riverside candidates for both village president and trustee will be held on Wednesday, March 4 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of the Riverside Township Hall, 27 Riverside Road in Riverside.
A similar event, featuring presidential and trustee candidates in Brookfield will be held on Wednesday, March 11 at 7 p.m. at the Brookfield Village Hall, 8820 Brookfield Ave.
In each case, the forums will be divided into two parts. The first will spotlight candidates running for village president, while the second part will feature trustee candidates.
The candidates will be asked questions related to specific issues in each village, and here's how you can help.
The League of Women Voters is soliciting questions from Riverside and Brookfield residents, ones which may end up being posed to the candidates themselves. You can e-mail your questions to riversideforum@wjinc.com or brookfieldforum@wjinc.com.
All questions will be screened and may be asked by the forum moderator during the event.
