Schools the root of financial trouble
I don't know what downtown business district Jacob Palka is looking for a parking place in ("Higher vehicle sticker fee 'genius'," Letters, Aug. 11), perhaps Hinsdale or Downers Grove. I visit our central business district at least four times a week at different times and have no problem finding a parking place.

St. Louise community applauds PACE program
In today's economy it is refreshing to see a program that not only keeps "pace" with the communities it serves, but also sets a "pace" of innovation and creativity. The St. Louise de Marillac program, PACE (Providing Access to Catholic Education) is a win-win proposition for our communities.

The 'crux' of the recreation debate
The excursion of the last six days has really shown to me that when the residents are upset they will engage. Many times we are too caught up in our daily lives to worry about or get involved with Riverside politics, but when over 1,000 people and still counting sign a petition to stop an injustice, let's hope our elected RCA trustees take notice.

Support for keeping rec board intact
As I indicated in my letter last week ("Trustees should listen to residents," Letters, July 28), the RCA is governing Riverside the same way Obama is "governing" the country - shoving everything down our throats regardless of public opinion.

Is Riverside this desperate for money?
I would like Riverside residents to know my experience dealing with the village relating to car sticker fees. Last summer, we turned title of our car over to my son who has been active duty in the Navy for five years.
