Charles and Jennie Jaros, longtime NR residents
A memorial service for longtime North Riverside residents Charles and Jennie Jaros will be held Friday, Feb. 11 at 1 p.m. at the North Riverside Community Presbyterian Church, 2350 8th Ave. in North Riverside.
Charles Jaros died Oct. 16, 2004 and Jennie (nee Pivoda) Jaros died Dec. 31, 2004. Charles, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, was a tool and dye maker prior to his retirement. He was also a member of the North Riverside VFW Post #6869. Jennie was a homemaker.
The couple is survived by their daughter, Linda (Michael) Rissky, three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions are appreciated to the North Riverside Community Presbyterian Church. Arrangements were handled by Kuratko Funeral Directors, North Riverside.
Elaine S. Lescher, 61, former North Riverside resident
Elaine S. Lescher (nee Smetana), 61, a resident of Braidwood who formerly lived in North Riverside, died Feb. 5, 2005 at Riverside Healthcare.
Ms. Lescher, a homemaker, was born in Cicero on May 26, 1943 to Anton and Adeline Smetana. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her son, Larry Schultz. She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Schultz) Ourada of Braidwood; her grandchild, Josie Ourada; and her sister, Marilyn Beste.
A funeral service, officiated by Deacon Frank DeVita, was held Feb. 6 at Hitzeman Funeral Home in Brookfield. Memorial contributions were appreciated to Missionary Oblates, 224 South DeMazenod Drive, Belleville, Ill. 62223-1035.
