Sybil E. Heinzl, 89, Brookfield homemaker
Sybil Eileen Heinzl (Henson), a Brookfield resident, died Feb. 27, 2005 at Foster G. McGaw Hospital on the campus of Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. She was 89.

Born in Johnson Springs, Ill. on Sept. 27, 1915 to Vernell and Lula Henson, she later married Herbert Heinzl and raised two sons.

Ms. Heinzl is survived by her husband, Herbert, of Brookfield; her sons, John (Donna) Heinzl and David (Cindy) Heinzl; and seven grandchildren, Jason, Rebecca, Jeffrey, Stephanie, Kristy, Nicole and Stacey.

A funeral service will be held this morning, March 2 at 11 a.m. at Hitzeman Funeral Home, 9445 31st St. in Brookfield, followed by interment in Chapel Hill Gardens West in Oakbrook Terrace.

Amy R. Sisulak, 94, former District 96 teacher
Amy Ruth Sisulak (nee Heltzel), 94, who taught school in Riverside Elementary School District 96, died Feb. 17, 2005 at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn.

Ms. Sisulak was born and raised on the Heltzel family farm, one of the oldest farms in Fulton County, Indiana. She was the granddaughter of Samuel and Martha Dawson, owners of the first farmstead in Fulton County.

She attended Manchester College in Manchester, Ind., where she received a two-year teaching certificate, and taught elementary school in Gilead, Macy and Akron, Ind. before returning to school to earn a four-year degree.

She attended Pestilozzi Teachers College in Chicago, where she earned that degree, and subsequently found a job as a teacher in Riverside.

Ms. Sisulak was very active in her churches, especially the Methodist Church in Gilead, Ind. and at Riverside United Methodist Church. She was also a 50-plus-year member of the Eastern Star and the National Education Association.

She is survived by her husband, Frank S. Sisulak; her children, Stuart, Thomas (Nancy) and Lt. Col. Randall, USAF ret. (Mary) Sisulak; her grandchildren, John (Meghan), Jennifer, Rachel (Michael), Erich and Christopher; her great granddaughter, Morgan Rose Sisulak; and her siblings, Ethel Miller and Gordon (Jeanette) Heltzel. She was preceded in death by her siblings, William E., Samuel, Marvin, Arthur, Robert, Col. Lester and Pvt. Earl Heltzel.

A funeral service was held Feb. 22 at Riverside United Methodist Church, followed by interment in Akron I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Akron, Ind.
