Lyons Township’s season came to a halt last week with a 61-47 loss to Proviso East in the semifinal of the Morton Sectional.

Lions struggled early to contain Proviso East’s Phillip Perry, who rattled off 13 points in the first half to put the Pirates up 31-20 at the break.

But LT made a run in the fourth quarter, most notably on the play of Adam Powers. The senior scored 11 of his 13 points in the final period, cutting the deficit to five with under six minutes to play in the game.

With the help of Marcus Scott and Scott Fuqua, the Pirates jumped on a 7-0 run to close out the win.

LT closes out the season with a 21-7 overall record and an 8-4 mark in the West Suburban (Silver) Conference, good for second place behind Oak Park and River Forest.
