Leonard C. Stabenow, 90, longtime N Riverside resident
Leonard C. Stabenow, 90, a 50-year resident of North Riverside and a former resident of Chicago, died May 31, 2005 at the Westmont Convalescent Center in Westmont.

Mr. Stabenow served in the U.S. Army from 1942-45 and spent 15 years as a laborer at Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park. He loved playing golf and biking.

He was preceded in death by one brother and six sisters, and is survived by his son, Carl Stabenow, and two grandchildren.

A graveside service was held at Woodlawn Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Riverside Funeral Directors, Brian D. Kuratko, director.

Rita Mae Stratman, 85, owned travel agency
Rita Mae Stratman (nee Cobey), 85, a 46-year resident of Scottswood Road in Riverside, died May 31, 2005 at her home in Clarendon Hills.

Ms. Stratman was married to Raymond J. Stratman, who preceded his wife in death. The couple owned Gaslight Travel Agency in Riverside. She was also a member of the St. Mary Church CCW.

She is survived by her children, John (Carolyn) Stratman, Martin Stratman, Carol (Richard) Lochner, Philip (Nancy) Stratman and Mark (Tina) Stratman; 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Ms. Stratman was also preceded in death by her son, Gregory, and her brother, Edward (the late Rita) Cobey.

A funeral Mass was celebrated June 6 at St. Isaac Jogues Church in Hinsdale, followed by interment in Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.

Memorial contributions were appreciated to St. Thomas Hospice, 8230 S. Madison, Burr Ridge, Ill. 60527.
