Stanley J. Czerwien, 91, Worked for Hotpoint
Stanley J. Czerwien, 91, a Brookfield resident, died Sept. 18, 2005 at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn.

Mr. Czerwien was born in Chicago on June 22, 1914 to Joseph and Tekla (nee Gorak) Czerwien, one of seven children. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked at the Hotpoint factory in Cicero.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Henry and Anthony Czerwien. He is survived by his sisters, Florence Lesniak and Betty Wojewnik; and by his brother, Frank Czerwien.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 11 a.m. at St. Louise de Marillac Church, LaGrange Park, followed by interment in Resurrection Cemetery in Justice.

Margit B. Foltan, 92, Retired Marshall Field’s employee
Margit B. Foltan, a resident of Riverside for over 45 years, died Sept. 11, 2005 at Manor Care Nursing Home in Westmont at the age of 92.

Ms. Foltan worked as a saleswoman for Marshall Field & Co. prior to her retirement. She was also a member of the St. Mary CCW and the Jednota Society.

She is survived by her daughters, Lillian Kubinski and Margaret Marcheschi; her grandchildren, Donnelle Saboe, Craig Kubinski, Bettina Wielgot, Kerry Marcheschi and Cherisse; three great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Sept. 13 at St. Mary Church in Riverside, followed by interment in Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery in Hillside.

Sonny L. Manuel, 71, Former Morton West dean
Sonny L. Manuel, a Brookfield resident who was dean of students at Morton West High School in Berwyn, died Sept. 19, 2005 at his home. He was 71.

Born on Dec. 11, 1933 to Lloyd and Helen Manuel in Mahomet, Ill., he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

Mr. Manuel is survived by his wife, Sharon S. Manuel (nee Southwick); his daughter, Sonia (Ryan Dupont) Manuel-Dupont of LaGrange Park; his sons, Mark (Mary) Manuel and Scott Manuel; and three grandchildren.

A funeral service, officiated by the Rev. Frederick C. Hill, will be held Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 1 p.m. at Hitzeman Funeral Home, 9445 31st St., Brookfield, followed by interment in Oakridge Cemetery.

Marie A. Zborowski, 81, Retired nurse
Marie A. Zborowski (nee Sokolowski), a resident of Antioch who formerly lived in Brookfield, died Sept. 17, 2005 at her home. She was 81 years old.

Born Sept. 10, 1924 in Cicero to Michael and Anna Sokolowski, she married Richard A. Zborowski and was employed as a nurse.

Ms. Zborowski is survived by her husband; her sons, the Rev. Richard A. Zborowski, Ronald (Nora) Zborowski and Robert (Lisa) Zborowski; her daughters, Nadine (Mark) Wozniak of Antioch and Nancy (Thom) DeVries; her sister, Wanda (the late Walter) Trznadel; her nephews, Walter Trznadel Jr., Michael Trznadel and John Trznadel; and 10 grandchildren.

A funeral Mass, celebrated by the Rev. Richard A. Zborowski, will be held at 9:30 a.m. at St. Louise de Marillac Church in LaGrange Park, followed by interment in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
