Walter L. Groff, 89, Electrical estimator
Walter L. “Bud” Groff, a Brookfield resident, died Oct. 19, 2005 at the British Home. He was 89 years old.
Born April 22, 1916 in Chicago, Mr. Groff served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was later employed as an electrical estimator. He was married to Eunice B. Groff (nee MacBride), who survives her husband. Mr. Groff enjoyed golfing, bowling and dancing with his beloved wife.
Mr. Groff is survived by his son, Stephen W. Groff; his daughters, Wendy Garvin and Pamela (Michael) West; his grandchildren, Beth Groff, Kimberly Molitor, Adam Garvin, Laura Williams, Bryan West and Jason West; and his brother, Babe (Marge) Groff.
A family gathering will be held Oct. 29, followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m., at Hitzeman Funeral Home, 9445 31st St., Brookfield. Interment is private.

Anne M. Nicholson, 87, Worked for electronics manufacturer
Anne M. Nicholson (nee Gerovac), a Brookfield resident and a longtime member of the St. Louise de Marillac Women’s Club, died Oct. 23, 2005 at LaGrange Memorial Hospital at the age of 87.
Ms. Nicholson was born in Ironwood, Mich. to Nicholas and Mary Gerovac on July 24, 1918. She married Wilfred Nicholson, who preceded his wife in death, and worked for an electronics manufacturer.
She is survived by her son, Robert J. (Linda) Nicholson of LaGrange Park; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and her sister, Mary (Joseph) Osterman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Barbara Banks; and her brothers, John (Rosemary) Gerovac, Mark (the late Ann) Gerovac, Frank (Loretta) Gerovac; Nicholas (the late Mary) Gerovac; and Joseph Gerovac.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Oct. 25 at St. Louise de Marillac Church in LaGrange Park, followed by interment in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
