Three players scored in double digits on Saturday to lead the Riverside Brookfield boys basketball team to a 66-56 victory over Nazareth.

Chris Parish led the Bulldogs (12-6) with 16 points to go along with his six rebounds, five assists and five steals. Jon Baldermann added 13 points and Mark Gorman 12 for the Bulldogs, who led by as much as 10 points at halftime.

RB received extra scoring from Jake Nash, who came off the bench to tally seven.

The victory came on the heals of a hard-fought 66-55 win over Suburban Prairie (East) Conference foe Ridgewood on Friday night. The Bulldogs, who have now won six straight conference games, held a commanding 38-21 lead at halftime. Tensions escalated in the third period, where several technical fouls were issued, but RB held on for the win behind the play of Gorman. The senior guard finished with a double-double of 21 points (four three-pointers) and 10 rebounds. He also pocketed six steals.

Parish added 19 points for the Bulldogs, who will go for their seventh straight SPC victory on Friday when they travel to Elmwood Park to play the Tigers (7 p.m.).

All-around good performance by Urben

Ashley Urben led the Lyons Township gymnastics team to a second place finish at the West Suburban (Silver) Conference Meet held at York High School on Friday.

Urben finished third in the all-around as the Lions finished with a total team score of 139.80, second to Hinsdale Central, who finished with a 142.95.

Oak park and River Forest High School rounded out third place with a 136.

Lions swim to third at home

The Lyons Township swim team finished third at its own invitational on Saturday.

The Lions garnered a score of 223, while Marmion took top honors with a 266. Hinsdale South rounded out second place with a score of 242.

The Lions outswam two West Suburban (Silver) Conference foes in York (179) and Oak Park (165).
