Registration for Riverside School District 96 kindergarten for the 2006-07 school year will take place on Thursday, March 2 at 7 p.m. in the Hauser Junior High auditorium, 65 Woodside Road, Riverside.
Parents are asked to pre-resister their child prior to the start of the 2006-07 school year, in order to assist the district with planning and to help prepare students for their first year of grammar school.
Pre-registration of the 2006-07 kindergarten class is important because of the flexible boundary guidelines. Every effort will be made to assign pre-registered students to the school in their neighborhood school attendance area. The district’s class-size policy is to keep all classes in grades K-3 at 20 students or less. When classes fill up, date of registration is an important factor in decisions about school assignments.
At the kindergarten registration program on March 2, you will receive a complete packet of registration materials. Administrators will be present to discuss registration procedures, school assignments and the flexible boundary guidelines. Information will also be available about the afternoon kindergarten enrichment program.
To be eligible for the 2006-07 kindergarten class, your child must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2006, (i.e. birth date on or before Sept. 1, 2001.
