Two North Riverside teens are hospitalized in critical condition and an 18-year old Brookfield woman has been charged with two counts of aggravated driving under the influence following a rollover crash on the Eisenhower Expressway near Desplaines Avenue in Forest Park during the early morning hours of April 15.

According to Illinois State Police, Brookfield resident Jessica Lord was driving a 2006 Chevy Cobalt in the center westbound lane on the Eisenhower Expressway when witnesses said she lost control of the vehicle, skidded across the right lane, the shoulder and up onto the grass embankment.

According to Trooper Michelle Tufenkjian, the vehicle rolled over on the embankment and both back seat passengers were thrown from the car. Neither of the back seat passengers, identified as an 18-years-old male and an 18-year-old female, both from North Riverside, were wearing seatbelts.

They were transported to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood and, according to Tufenkjian, were listed in critical condition as of Monday afternoon. The female victim is a senior at Riverside-Brookfield High School. The male victim is a 2005 graduate of that school.

Lord and the front seat passenger, 21-year-old Chicago man, were both wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash and were not seriously injured.

Tufenkjian confirmed that Lord and her passengers had been at a party earlier that evening, but declined to give additional details, since the investigation of the case was ongoing.

State police charged Lord with two counts of aggravated DUI causing great bodily harm. Each count is considered a Class 4 felony. If convicted, Lord could face the loss of full driving privileges for a minimum of one year, a prison term of up to three years and a maximum fine of $10,000 for each count.

Appearing in bond court Monday morning, Lord’s bond was set at $250,000.

Lord is also currently awaiting trail on a cocaine possession charge lodged against her last December. On Dec. 7, 2005 Lord was charged with possession of a controlled substance after Riverside-Brookfield High School officials reportedly found her with less than 1 gram of cocaine.

Lord is no longer enrolled at Riverside-Brookfield High School.

Her next court date in connection with that case is scheduled for June 6 in Cook County Circuit Court at Maybrook.
