Mary Ann Grevenites, 91, Former Brookfield resident
Mary Ann Grevenites (nee Libero), 91, a resident of Downers Grove and former resident of Brookfield, died June 18, 2009 at St. Patrick’s residence in Naperville.
Born in Italy on July 27, 1917 to Joseph and Caroline (nee Parricano) Libero, she later married John Grevenites, who preceded his wife in death. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Lucille Waychunas, and her grandson, Stephen Waychunas.
Ms. Grevenites is survived by her children, Carolyn (James) Kastner of Downers Grove, Sharon (Charles) Vesely and James (Leslie) Grevenites; her grandchildren, Matthew Kastner, Michael Kastner, Melonee Dowling, Christopher Grevenites, Thomas Vesely and William Vesely; five great grandchildren; and her sister, Helen Schiavone.
A funeral service was held June 20 at St. Patrick’s Residence, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.

Paul A. Kaspar, 88, Accountant
Former longtime Riverside resident Paul A. Kaspar, 88, died June 13, 2009 at Northeast Illinois Hospice in Woodstock.
Mr. Kaspar served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and was employed as a certified public accountant after the war. He was married for 56 years to Marian Kaspar (nee Fitzgibbon), who preceded her husband in death. He was also preceded in death by his son, Patrick Edward Kaspar; his parents, C. Arthur and Grace (nee Enright) Kaspar; and his brother, John J. (Dorothy) Kaspar.
He is survived by his children, Mary Ellen (Martin) Matzelle, Paul T. “Tim” (Deborah) Kaspar, Michael J. (Jan) Kaspar, Peter M. (Sara) Kaspar, and Norine M. Lussnig; his grandchildren, Laura (Brett) Johnson, Theresa Matzelle, Erin (Toby) Tyler, Lindsay (Cody) Weaver, Jorie Kaspar, Jenna Kaspar, Jessica Kaspar, Daniel Kaspar, Paul Kaspar, Peter Kaspar, Sean Kaspar, Matthew Lussnig and Steven Lussnig; and his great grandson, Zachary Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was celebrated June 22 at St. Mary Church in Riverside, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial masses are appreciated.

Eleanor A. Nevsimal, 82, Retired hospital secretary
Eleanor A. Nevsimal (nee Dobes), 82, a longtime resident of North Riverside, died June 21, 2009 at the Timbers of Shorewood.
Ms. Nevsimal was born on Dec. 21, 1926 to Charles and Anna (nee Koupal) Dobes. She was married Rudolph J. “Rudy” Dobes for 57 years and worked as a secretary at Hines V.A. Hospital prior to her retirement.
She was also a member of the North Riverside Golden Agers, VFW Post #6869 Ladies Auxiliary, the Cicero Young Survivors Club and the Mater Christi Women’s Guild.
Ms. Nevsimal is survived by her husband; her son, Wayne (Cynthia) Nevsimal; her granddaughter, Rachael Nevsimal; her brother, Charles (Dorothy) Dobes; her nieces and nephews, Randy Nevsimal, Lynn Thomas, Kathy Restivo, Steve Dobes, Chuck Dobes, Eileen Dudzinski and Jim Dobes; her brother-in-law, Jim (Lillian) Nevsimal; and many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother, Jim (the late Mary) Dobes.
Visitation is Thursday, June 25 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Kuratko-Nosek Funeral Home, 2447 Desplaines Ave. in North Riverside. A chapel service will be held Friday, June 26 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by entombment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park.
Mildred F. Slunecko, 91, Retired machinist
North Riverside resident Mildred Frances “Sunny” Slunecko (nee Miska) died June 2, 2009 at the age of 91.
She was born July 1, 1917 and served in World War II as a corporal in the Women’s Army Corps. Ms. Slunecko worked as a machinist at Thor Co. in Cicero prior to retirement and was an active member of the Republican Party.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph P. Slunecko; her brother, George (Dolores) Miska; and her nephews, George and Guy Miska. She is survived by her nephew, Jeff (Maureen) Miska.
A memorial visitation will be held Sunday, June 28 from 1 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 2 p.m. at Kuratko-Nosek Funeral Home, 2447 Desplaines Ave. in North Riverside.
Frank Precechtel, 85, Retired police officer
Frank Precechtel, 85, a North Riverside resident and former resident of Forest Park, died June 14, 2009.
Mr. Precechtel was born Sept. 25, 1923 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Following the war he was a police officer for the village of Forest Park for 18 years. He was also a member of American Legion Post #2910.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie Precechtel (nee Santore); his parents, Constantine and Frances (nee Tuma) Precechtel; his stepmother, Mary Chemelina; and his siblings, Constantine (the late Peggy) Precechtel and Frances (Art) Jenkins.
Mr. Precechtel is survived by his son, Frank Precechtel Jr.; his sister, Josephine (Nick) Nichols; and his brother, Ronald (Sylvia) Chemelina.
A funeral Mass was celebrated June 23 at St. Bernardine Church in Forest Park, followed by interment at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery.
