Riverside‘s village board will vote to appoint a new village manager on Wednesday during a special meeting scheduled for in Room 4 of the Riverside Township Hall,

27 Riverside Road
.

Following a four-month search conducted largely by President Michael Gorman and Trustee Lonnie Sacchi, the board narrowed its list to four finalists in August. The board met in closed session on four occasions to interview the finalists in mid-August.

The board last met to choose a finalist on Aug. 24 in a special meeting, which was closed to the public.

One of the finalists is known to be Interim Village Manager Robin Weaver, who took the reins in June after Kathleen Rush resigned. On Monday afternoon, Weaver declined to comment on whether she would be named to the job.

At least one of the finalists is currently employed as a village manager in the Chicago area. Two others are believed to be assistant managers.

Attempts to reach Gorman were unsuccessful.
