Fenwick hockey

Aidan Verbeke scored a goal in the third period to lead the Friars past Catholic League rival St. Viator 7-6 last week.

The Friars jumped out to an early lead when Ryan Fitzgerald buried a St. Viator turnover with a pin point slap shot.  But St. Viator responded with two quick goals to take a 2-1 lead.

Fitzgerald answered with his second goal of the game on a power play at the end of the first period.

St. Viator took a 4-2 lead heading into the final minutes before the Friars received a shot in the arm with two late second period goals by Greyson Feichtinger and Conor Ward to knot the score 4-4.

The Friars fell to Loyola 2-1 on Saturday. Karl Langhans had 30 saves in the net for Fenwick.

The Friars will compete in the Blackhawk Charities Tournament at The Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville this weekend.
