Motorists in North Riverside planning on traveling south on 17th Avenue from Cermak Road this afternoon should plan accordingly.
The street is closed to southbound traffic south of 23rd Street because of a water main break, said Police Chief Anthony Garvey. Northbound traffic will not be affected.
Work should be done by 3 p.m., Garvey said. Southbound traffic will be rerouted either to First Avenue or 25th Avenue.
