The League of Women Voters of the La Grange Area will host a public forum for candidates seeking the office of Cook County commissioner for the 16th District, which includes Brookfield, North riverside and Riverside. The Forum will be held on Sunday, Jan. 17 from 2 to 3:15 p.m. at the Countryside City Hall, 5550 East Ave.
Attendees are invited to ask candidates about their positions on issues facing Cook County such as the budget, the Independent Health Board for Cook County Hospital, the additional county sales tax, the juvenile justice system and the Forest Preserve District.
Candidates who have been invited to the forum include Democratic Party candidates Bill Russ, Jeffrey R. Tobolski and Eddy Garcia; Republican Party candidates Tony Peraica and Brian A. Sloan; and Green Party candidates Alejandro Reyes and Alex Matos.
