Both Riverside and Brookfield have been awarded grants by the Township of Lyons for park improvements. On Tuesday, trustees approved more than $4 million in park improvement grants to 15 agencies within Lyons Township.


Brookfield will receive $300,000 for the construction of a new concession stand and shelter at Jaycee/Ehlert Park. Riverside, meanwhile, was awarded $109,000 for several improvements at Indian Gardens, including tennis court resurfacing, new fencing and fence fabric for the tennis courts, ballfield backstop fencing, dugout repair and parking lot improvements.
