In response to your article “New principal on the way for Congress Park School,” we thank you for your introduction of our incoming principal, Michele Ramsey, to the parents of Congress Park School and the community. We are very excited to know that our new principal has a “warm, positive personality” and is “a very energetic candidate with a can-do attitude.” These qualifications will match the attributes of the students, staff and parents of Congress Park School. It was well noted that Congress Park School “is far different than other elementary schools in District 102.” We couldn’t agree more!
We are proud to have the “most ethnically diverse population in the district.” With these demographics, Congress Park is not only unique but a well rounded community. Our children are fortunate to experience the culture and diversity of the District 102 area. The experiences they will have while attending Congress Park School will make them well equipped for the future. We look forward to meeting and getting to know Ms. Ramsey as we welcome her to our school family.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. William Ward and Mrs. Joni Sherman for their dedication to their “interim” positions as principal and vice principal. During the two years that they have been with us, they have taken the initiative to learn about and understand our school. Staff, students and parents have been encouraged and allowed to share ownership in the changes being implemented. They have earned our respect and gratitude and will be dearly missed. We wish them both all the best in their future endeavors, and we look forward to the new school year.
