The Riverside Residents for Flood Prevention will host a public meeting with representatives of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on Tuesday, April 27 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of the Riverside Township Hall, 27 Riverside Road.

Lynne Whelan, the Army Corps of Engineers’ public affairs officer will be on hand to outline ongoing studies regarding Des Plaines River flooding in Riverside. In addition project managers Mike Nguyen (Hofmann Dam) and Jeff Zuercher (Des Plaines River) will also be available to answer questions about their projects.

The general public is invited to attend. The Riverside Residents for Flood Prevention is a group of residents who banded together after the September 2008 flood to shine a light on causes and help push for finding solutions for flooding in the village.
