Property owners in Riverside Township may file an assessment appeal with the Cook County Assessor’s Office through July 1.
One way to file an appeal is online at the assessor’s Web site, www.cookcountyassessor.com. A simple appeal can be filed this way using comparables found on that Web site or obtained with the assistance of the Riverside Township Assessor’s Office.
Staff at the township office is available to assist with searching for comparable properties, discussing appeal options and providing the appropriate appeal forms. The township office will be able to accept appeals through Friday, June 25.
The township office, located on the third floor of the township hall, 27 Riverside Road, will be open longer hours to assist people with their supporting documentation and comparables. However, phone calls to schedule appointments are encouraged. Call 447-7700 for more information.
Appeals can made directly to the Cook County Assessor’s Office through July 1 by visiting their office at 118 N. Clark St. in Chicago.
