Former Brookfield resident Thomas Duran, 67, died Sept. 16, 2010, at Harmony House, an assisted living facility in Hayden Lake, Idaho.

Mr. Duran grew up in Brookfield, where he played Little League and Pony League baseball and grade school and high school basketball. He attended S.E. Gross School and graduated from Riverside-Brookfield High School.

According to his brother, Robert, Mr. Duran was the first busboy at Buresh’s Lobster House, just a few blocks from his Brookfield home.

A man who enjoyed fishing and hunting, Mr. Duran moved to Gasville, Ark., in 1988 where he lived for 10 years. He then moved to Post Falls, Idaho, where he lived for the last 12 years of his life.

He is survived by his brother, Robert; his sister-in-law, Connie; and his niece, Melissa. Mr. Duran was cremated and buried next to his mother, Wilma, at Baxter Memorial gardens in Mt. Home, Ark.
