The Riverside branch of the American Association of University Women will host a public forum titled, “Where Your Tax Money Goes” tonight, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. at the Riverside Public Library, 1 Burling Road.
The forum includes a panel of elected officials, including Riverside Township Assessor Fran Sitkiewicz, Riverside Trustee Lonnie Sacchi and Riverside-Brookfield High School board President James Marciniak.
Sitkiewicz will open the program with an explanation of how individual tax bills are determined, while Sacchi and Marciniak will provide an insider’s view of the financial realities each governmental body faces, explain how tax dollars are used and how budgets are determined.
The presentations from the officials will be followed with a question-and-answer session.
