Bernice T. Higgins (nee Kazlauskas), 97, formerly of Riverside and Chicago, died Nov. 12, 2010. At the time of her death, Ms. Higgins was a resident of Emeritus Assisted Living in Burr Ridge.
Ms. Higgins was preceded in death by her husband, Circuit Court Judge George A. Higgins Sr. She is survived by her children, Thomas J. (Marilynne) Higgins, Kathleen H. (the late Ernest) Wampola, George A. (Dolores) Higgins Jr., Martin P. (Teresa) Higgins, Mary Beth (Richard Pope) Higgins; nine grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Nov. 15 at St. Mary Church in Riverside, followed by interment at St. Casimir Lithuanian Cemetery in Chicago.
Memorial donations were appreciated to Misericordia Home, 6300 N. Ridge Ave., Chicago, Ill. 60660 in support of her great grandson Matthew Prod.
Arrangements were handled by Riverside Funeral Directors, Brian T. Kuratko, director.
