There she became executive director of the Colorado Library Association. In 1990, Ms. Votisek moved to the Bay Area in California, working as a technical librarian in the private sector and creating internal libraries, the last of which was for Adobe Systems.

Ms. Votisek is survived by her husband of 35 years, Jim Votisek; her children, Matt (Linda) and Kristin (Bret Fischer); and her grandchildren, Vanessa and Grayson.
