Marie C. Olson (nee Jandak), 99, a resident of Brookfield for 77 years, died Dec. 8, 2010, at the British Home in Brookfield.
Born in Chicago on Aug. 29, 1911, to Simon and Katherine (nee Olack) Jandak, she was married to Arthur E. Olson for 65 years. Mr. Olson preceded his wife in death.
Ms. Olson is survived by her children, Richard (Marcia) Olson of Riverside and Marilyn (Tom) Young of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; her grandchildren, Janice (Darrin) McCauley, Cori (Dr. Richard) Vallandigham, Michelle (Sean) Spellman, Brett (Diane) Young, Kim (Keith) Kirkpatrick and Matt (Karen) Young; her great grandchildren, Ryan McCauley, Kelly McCauley, Elle Vallandigham, Jack Vallandigham, Connor Spellman, Dylan Spellman, Brian Young, Krista Young, Josslyn Kirkpatrick, Julianna Kirkpatrick, Madison Young, Lucus Young and Alexa Young; her siblings, Eleanor Morris and Rudy Jandak; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Hazel Kristofik, Fred Jandak, Ann Smiddy and Irene Dever.
Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 23, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Hitzeman Funeral Home, 9445 31st St., Brookfield, followed at 10 a.m. by a funeral Mass at St. Louise de Marillac Church, LaGrange Park. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
