The Brookfield Chamber of Commerce and LaGrange Area League of Women Voters will host a forum on Tuesday, March 1, featuring candidates running for Brookfield trustee.
The event will be held at Brookfield Village Hall, 8820 Brookfield Ave., at 7 p.m. and is expected to last an hour. All six trustee candidates – Wil Brennan, Ryan Evans, C.P. Hall, Kit Ketchmark, Bill Russ and Douglas Tremper – have been invited to the forum.
Chamber of Commerce President Mike McNeily said candidates have until sometime this week to confirm their participation.
The forum will be moderated by a representative from the League of Women Voters and will feature opening and closing statements by each candidate as well as questions to answer.
The questions are being accepted from members of the public prior to the forum. Anyone interested in submitting can do so by sending an e-mail with “Question for forum in Brookfield” in the subject field to lagrangearealwv@gmail.com.
RBHS forum broadcast live
Seven candidates vying for three 4-year terms on the Riverside-Brookfield High School Board of Education will face off during a live broadcast on RBTV (Channel 16) on Wednesday, March 2.
The forum, moderated by the LaGrange Area League of Women Voters, will begin at 7 p.m. and is expected to wrap up by 8 p.m. While the forum will be broadcast live and re-broadcast several times prior to the April 5 election, there won’t be an audience in the studio due to space constraints.
However, questions from voters are welcome prior to the event. Send an e-mail to lagrangearealwv@gmail.com with “Question for forum at RBHS” in the subject line.
Forum slated for D103 hopefuls
The LaGrange Area League of Women Voters will also be moderating a forum involving candidates for the Brookfield-Lyons District 103 school board.
Parent groups from district schools have banded together to host the forum, which is scheduled for Tuesday, March 8, at 7 p.m. It will be held in the large gym at George Washington Middle School, 8101 Ogden Ave. in Lyons.
There are 11 candidates on the ballot in Dist. 103. Nine people are vying for four 4-year terms and two competing for one 2-year term.
Audience members can submit questions in writing on the night of the forum or community members can e-mail questions to lagrangearealwv@gmail.com. Put “Question for forum in SD103” in the subject line.
