I would first like to take this opportunity to thank the parents, teachers and constituents of Komarek School District 94 for their support during my years as a school board member. It has truly been a pleasure serving our community in the capacity as a school board member for the past two years.
As some of you may know, I unfortunately had to submit my resignation to the school board, effective Feb. 1 due to changes happening in my life. I am happy to say that I am engaged to be married to a wonderful woman in May of 2012.
However, with that, as we all know, come adjustments to life that we have otherwise been accustomed to. After being a proud resident of North Riverside for 26 years, I have moved to LaGrange to continue a wonderful life in the great western suburbs of Chicago.
Although not too far from North Riverside, LaGrange puts me out of the District 94 boundaries. I am sad to leave after only two years into my term, but I am very happy that the voters of the school district gave me the opportunity to serve our community.
Komarek School is going through some interesting times and will be facing many challenges. I encourage everyone to become involved in the school and in the community as a whole.
I truly enjoyed my time on the school board, and want to thank my fellow members for the wonderful conversation, support and respect we have given each other during our time together. I know that the current members all have only the best in mind when it comes to the future of Komarek School and the students.
I thank you again for your support, and look forward to seeing you out and about in the western suburbs.
Michael “Mike” Dropka, former board member
