Elizabeth Yurik (nee Hodul), 94, of Burr Ridge and formerly of Brookfield, died March 13, 2011, at Chateau Center in Willowbrook.
Born in Chicago on Sept. 23, 1916, to John and Elizabeth (nee Marecik) Hodul, she married Paul Yurik, who preceded his wife in death.
Ms. Yurik is survived by her daughter, Betty Ann (Ben) Perek, of Burr Ridge; her son, Donald (Ann) Yurik; her grandchildren, David (Rose) Yurik, Lisa (Keith) Shelly, Debbie Yurik. Laura (Jon) Gertsmeier, Leslee (Steven) Mezan and Paul Yurik; her great grandchildren, Anthony Yurik, Bryan Yurik, Jacob Shelly, Zachary Yurik, Andrew Shelly, Luke Gertsmeier, Olivia Mezan, Abby Gertsmeier, Mia Yurik, Ryan Gertsmeier and Avery Mezan; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 16, from 10:30 to 11 a.m., followed immediately by a funeral service officiated by the Rev. Dennis Lauritsen at Hitzeman Funeral Home, 9445 31st St. in Brookfield. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park.
