I write to recommend David Kodama in the upcoming election for School District 96 Board of Education. Dave is a Big 10 science graduate with a business background and a soft heart.

In addition to coaching Riverside baseball, Dave founded the Riverside Soccer Association and has led numerous other activities for children, including the recently successful “Hullabalooza” at RB High School.

Although Dave works as senior director of research and policy analysis for a significant business association, he chaperones for school field trips, acted as parent helper at Central and Hauser schools, and even served as Sunday school teacher. He has boundless energy and a genuine concern for the children of Riverside. He’s a man who “walks the walk” of trying to leave the community better than when he arrived.

Here is the bottom line, Dave and I do not always agree on the issues, but David Kodama’s positions are well-reasoned, fiscally sound and always focused on what is best for the children of Riverside. In sum, he is exactly the type of person we should want on public boards, making public decisions.
