Steven M. Panko, 55, of Brookfield, died March 16, 2011 at his home.
Mr. Panko was born in Berwyn on Jan. 29, 1956, to Norman and Hildegarde Martha Panko. He was married to Dorothy Panko, who survives her husband, and was employed as a driver for a charter transportation company.
He is also survived by his son, Robert D. (fiancée Katie Grunow) Garapolo, and his brother, David Panko.
A funeral service was held March 19 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hillside, followed by Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park.
Memorial donations were appreciated to Chicago Ridge Animal Hospital, 10305 Southwest Highway, Chicago Ridge, Ill. 60415.
