I am writing in support of Doris Stanek for the District 95 school board. I have known Doris for 18 years on many different levels. As an active member of both the Brook Park Council Parent Organization and the S.E. Gross PTO, I had the privilege of getting to know Doris as an educator whose enthusiasm for teaching and commitment to her students was unsurpassed.
Several years later my daughter participated in an elementary education internship through Riverside-Brookfield High School that required her to observe and assist in a classroom setting.
Mrs. Stanek was more than willing – and the perfect choice – to serve as a mentor for someone considering a career in the elementary education field (my daughter begins her student teaching at Illinois State University in the fall).
As a neighbor and fellow LaGrange Park resident, I also consider Doris a friend. I believe that Doris Stanek possesses an extensive knowledge of the educational system, as well as a tremendous energy that will make her a positive addition to the District 95 school board. Her unwavering dedication and commitment to our children and community can only serve to improve District 95.
