While village administrators in Brookfield have gone without pay raises for the past three years, Brookfield’s public library director, Kimberly Litland, was awarded a 3-percent raise on March 23.

Library board trustees voted 6 to 0 (Trustee Judith Sweet was absent) to approve the raise, boosting Litland’s salary to $81,061.

“It was a fair and just increase,” said library board President Dianne Duner on March 31. “She’s done a good job for us.”

Litland has been director of the Brookfield Public Library since February 2005.
