Thomas G. Carton Sr., 92, Worked in oil industry

Thomas G. Carton Sr. 92, of Brookfield, died April 5, 2011, at Hinsdale Hospital.

For 40 years, Mr. Carton worked as a sales representative for several companies in the oil/petroleum industry, retiring in 1982. When he wasn’t working, Mr. Carton enjoyed woodworking, traveling the country in his motor coach and enjoying the company of his friends and also animals.

Mr. Carton moved to Brookfield in 1977, the same year he married his wife, Inga Conrad (nee Lindinger) at Village Church in LaGrange Park. She survives her husband.

Mr. Carton is also survived by his sons, James Carton and Thomas (Carolyn) Carton; his daughters, Carolyn (the late Bill) Turek and Elizabeth (John) Oliva; his stepdaughter, Pamela (Patrick) Heneghan; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were private.
