Dennis J. Kotewa, 57, of Brookfield, died Sept. 2, 2011 at his home.
Mr. Kotewa lived in the village since 1968. He was an avid Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears fan and NASCAR racing enthusiast. His favorite driver was Jeff Gordon. He was also a collector of model cars and tow trucks, and had great admiration for the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Bernice Kotewa. Mr. Kotewa is survived by his brother, Lawrence J. (Michelle) Kotewa; his sister, Kathy Ruzic; his nieces, Denise Brothers and Valerie Kotewa; his nephews, Gregory and Ryan Kotewa; and his great-nieces and nephews, Kaleb, Isabella, Ryan Jr., Brandon and Owen.
Visitation will be on Friday, Sept. 9 from 2 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, Sept. 10 from 8:30 to 9 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, 3845-47 Prairie Ave., Brookfield. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10 at St. Louise de Marillac Church, 30th Street and Raymond avenues in LaGrange Park. Interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
