Susan Ann Mizaur (nee Fritschel), 66, of Glendale, Ariz., and formerly of Riverside, died Aug. 29, 2011 in her daughter Lisa’s home in Glendale following a long illness.

Ms. Mizaur grew up in Palos Park and in Hinsdale, graduating from Hinsdale Central High School.

After working as an administrative assistant at a hospital for a number of years, Ms. Mizaur, with backing from her parents, opened up Nature’s Flowers in Stickney. After a time, she moved the business to the Arcade Building in downtown Riverside and operated the store with her daughter, Lisa Czene, into the 1980s.

“She was super-talented with hardly any training at all,” said her daughter Shelly Shepherd.

She moved to Phoenix, Ariz., in 1995 and worked at a local grocery store as the deli manager. While in good health, she enjoyed reading, camping and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Ms. Mizaur was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Martha and Arthur Fritschel; her grandchildren, John and Jessica; and her ex-husband, James.

In addition to her daughters, Lisa Czene and Shelly Shepherd, she is survived by her grandchildren, Julia, Daniel, Abby and Ben.
