Tuesday night the Riverside Elementary School District 96 school board voted unanimously to appoint Riverside resident Lisa Gaynor to the school board. Gaynor, who is the current PTA president at Blythe Park School, will serve out the term of Mary Stimming who resigned from the school board last month because she is moving to Georgia.

Gaynor took the oath of office and took her seat at the board table late in Tuesday’s meeting.

Gaynor said that she hopes to remain Blythe Park PTA president as well as serving on the school board.

“At the moment we’re going to try and make it work,” Gaynor said Tuesday night.

District 96 Superintendent Jonathan Lamberson said that he believes that Gaynor will be the first District 96 school board member who is also simultaneously a PTA president since he has been at District 96.

Meanwhile, Brookfield resident Art Perry, who was elected to the board in April, was selected to replace Stimming as board vice-president in an unanimous vote.
