Juliann H. Spirios, 55, of Brookfield, died Oct. 9, 2011 at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Oct. 5, 1956 in Champaign and was a 1977 graduate of Western Illinois University. She received her master’s degree from Illinois State University and was a special needs teacher for the Academy for Learning in Dolton.
Ms. Spirios is survived by her husband, Thomas J. Spirios; her children, Alex and Sophia; her parents, William and Betty Jo Hollis, of Peoria; her siblings, Francie (Thomas) King and William Christopher Hollis (Daniel Jose Chavez); and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. until the time of a service at noon at Christ Presbyterian Church, 2350 8th Ave. in North Riverside. Memorial donations are appreciated to a college fund for the Spirios children.
