Brookfield’s Beautification Commission is putting out a call for volunteers to participate in its Fall Project NICE (Neighbors Involved In A Clean Environment) event, a village-wide effort to clean up public parks and other areas set for Saturday, Oct. 22 from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

Volunteers – from adults to children – are asked to either register in advance or report to Brookfield Village Hall, 8820 Brookfield Ave. on the day of the event. Registration forms can be picked up in the lobby of the village hall or can be downloaded online at www.brookfieldil.gov/beautification. Pre-registration is encouraged for large groups.

All volunteers will receive a T-shirt for participating but are asked to bring their own work gloves and bags for cleanup. If at all possible, volunteers are asked to bring tools, such as rakes, shovels, clippers and wheelbarrows.

For more information, email the commission at brookfieldbeautification@brookfieldil.gov or call Carla at 708-209-7236 or Julie at 708-261-3750.
