Despite missing several of their top gymnasts due to illnesses, the Bulldogs performed admirably at the Homewood-Flossmoor Invitational over the weekend. RB scored a 71.9 led by freshman Jackie LaBelle, who scored 7.70 on floor and 8.00 on vault
The Lions won their invitational on Friday with a top score of 139.150 followed by Glenbard West (139.00) and Naperville Central (132.250). Kelsey Kurfirst starred for LT, winning the all-around with a 9.325. She also won the parallel bars (9.3), balance beam (9.1) and floor exercise (9.5).

Led by Ashanti Davis’s 14 points, Lyons defeated Glenbard West 36-28 last week to push its record to 7-2 overall and 3-1 in the West Suburban (Silver) Conference.
The Bulldogs took fifth place at the Glenbard South Invitational on Saturday. Michael Reeze captured second place at 170 pounds and Nick Misiorowski finished third at 145. Joe Sandora (120), Vinny Zaccagnini (138) and Nick Brusaw (220) rounded out the Bulldogs’ top performers, all notching fourth place showings in their respective weight classes. Earlier last week, Glenbard South knocked off RB 51-24 in a Metro Suburban Conference dual match.
RB placed fifth at the Downers Grove Invitational on Saturday. Sean Demuro took top honors in the 50 freestyle and teamed up with Kevin Garza, John Copp and Quinn Risley to also win the 200 freestyle relay. The Bulldogs also swept host Lincoln-Way West 96-61 in a dual meet last week. David Kidwell, Tim Somers and Garza turned in notable performances.
