Lucille M. H. Ander, 94, of Brookfield, died Dec. 27, 2011 at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.
Born on Nov. 17, 1917 in Chicago to Albert and Anna (nee Alexa) Hlavacek, she worked for 40 years at Western Electric’s Hawthorne Works plant. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America Hawthorne Chapter #45 and the Military Order of Guards.
Ms. Ander is survived by her son, James W. (Karen) Ander, of Plainfield; her grandchildren, Christine Ferris, Jennifer DeSmedt, Jodi Madejczyk and Julie Ander; four great-grandchildren; and her sister, Dolly (Robert) Blackmore. She was preceded in death by her sister, Geogiana Hlavacek, and her brother, Albert Hlavacek.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on Dec. 31 at St. Barbara Church in Brookfield. Memorial donations are appreciated to St. Barbara Church, 4008 Prairie Ave., Brookfield, Ill. 60513.
