Daniel J. McMahon, a resident of Riverside and the chairman of the Wilson Elsner law firm, has been named to the 2011 Irish Legal 100, a prestigious listing comprising some of the most accomplished lawyers of Irish descent from across the nation.

This year’s list also includes Vice President Joe Biden, Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, Associate Justice Anthony Kennedy and Presidential Chief of Staff William Daley.

McMahon joined the firm in 1995 and was named regional managing partner in the Chicago office in 1999 at the age of 35. He was named the firm’s chairman in 2009. He traces his Irish roots to his great-grandfather and namesake, who immigrated to the U.S from County Clare in 1896.

McMahon received his bachelor’s degree and law degree at Notre Dame and his family marches each year in Chicago’s St. Patrick’s Day parade.
