Thaddeus J. Krason, 90, of Brookfield and formerly of Chicago, died Jan. 5, 2012 at his home.

Mr. Krason was raised in Chicago and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After leaving the service, he married Lena K. Smania on May 26, 1946 at St. Agatha Church in Chicago.

He worked as a warehouseman for the A&P grocery company in Chicago for 30 years. He was a member of the Amalgamated Meat Cutters Union, Polish Veterans of America, Polish Roman Catholic Union and the Polish National Alliance.

In 1980, Mr. and Mrs. Krason moved to Brookfield. Mr. Krason was an avid reader, who enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and watching westerns on TV.

Mr. Krason is survived by his wife, Lena K. Krason (nee Smania); his children, Nanette (Ron) Brija, Melanie (Jim) Sloane, Ted (Val Pehler) Krason and Mark (Kathy) Krason; his grandchildren, Marissa Bresnahan, Jonathan Brija, Joshua Brija, Thaddeus E. Brija, John Krason and Michael Krason; and his brother, the Rev. Edward J. Krason.

A funeral Mass was held Jan. 9 at St. Barbara Church in Brookfield, followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice.
