Several Riverside, Brookfield and North Riverside residents have made a commitment to the fight against pediatric cancer by volunteering their time to support The Super Jake Foundation, a national organization that raises money for pediatric cancer research and support programs.
The volunteers include Lisa Miller, Andi Cannata, Mike Gardner and Shannon Gardner, of Brookfield; Chrissy Tuscher, of Riverside; and Chris Ulrich, of North Riverside.
In the past six years, the organization has raised more than $1.5 million. The foundation’s Red Cape Gala will be held from 6 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Palmer House Hilton Hotel, 17 East Monroe St. in Chicago. Tickets are $160 and include dinner, dancing, live music provided by The Al Sofia Orchestra, open bar, and a silent and live auction. Guests are encouraged to wear red ties and attire in honor of those who have battled pediatric cancer, along with those who continue to fight the disease.
